fennel chicken salad bento

Can you tell I just love this plain, ordinary, little old lunch container.  I keep using it.  It’s so practical!  So, another chicken salad…this time with fresh bulb fennel from the garden, with corn kernels, and a few pickles, and a little Japanese mayonnaise.  A strange combination?  Somehow it worked.  A contrast of flavours.
I had toasted Lebanese bread with it…so nice and thin, and perfect to scoop up the salad with.  Also a crunchy little side salad, and white nectarine chooks.  Summer is nearly over, but you can’t tell…still hot as ever.  I can hardly imagine having soup and rolls for lunch ever again!  Whether you’re north or south of the equator, have a great day 🙂
